HP Pavilion dv7t-6c00 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC

I have revived my old HP Pavilion dv7 and got most things working. It needs a little more power to be useful still and I am a bit confused reading the user manuals on what processor and graphics products I could upgrade to so I can still make use of it. Is anyone familiar with reading the manual and able to help me figure out what the upgrade would be?

Current Processor: Intel Core i5-2430M

Current Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7400M Series

So the processor and graphics appear to be able to be removed...I should be able to replace one or the other efore swapping motherboards. Also now that I think about it RAM may help as well, it's currently struggling to maintain an HDMI connection so im wondering cheapest way to get it good enough to run a program and display it to my tv.

hi

sorry, but i think there is a misunderstanding
take a good look at the manual
if you have the indications for the replacement of the processor, with part numbers for each one
you will not find anything for the graphics card, no part number, no explanation, for the replacement
and as indicated, it is referenced the model of each motherboard, with its graphics processor
I could be wrong, because I have read the document, but check carefully

Okay reading through it again that makes more sense, so both processor and graphics are integrated with motherboard so I would have to upgrade motherboard to get better components. Is that right? And if so can you help explain which would be the best I could upgrade to? I'm still confused by the documentation haha sorry!

HP Recommended

not yet
in the manual, see
4 Removal and replacement procedures
scroll to processor
Remove the processor:
1. Use a flat-bladed screw driver (1) to turn the processor locking screw one-half turn
counterclockwise (2), until you hear a click

For the processor, it's ok
Replacing the motherboard is definitely not worth it.
For the price, the risk of it not working, breaking something etc...

I'm not worried about breaking anything when installing a different motherboard, more concerned with getting a motherboard and it not being compatible with the other pieces. Just trying to make sure I find the right motherboard and processor so it's all compatible. I'm just looking for max upgrade available then I can decide if I will do that or not
