HP Spectre
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a problem with camera connecting my spectre i7 computer.  I have a 360 camera called a Insta360 one x. Everytime I try to plug in my camera into my computer a message appears that says that USB device isn't recognized, then it is as if the computer kicks the device off the computer. The USB icon appears and disappears very quickly and I can't access my files even though my camera is still in the computer. I've pluged in my camera in other computers seems to work just fine, but everytime I do it on the spectre it doesn't work.

Is there anyway to fix this? Thank you

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding issues with the computer. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Does the camera came with any driver's disc to be installed?

Did you try connecting it to a different usb port?

Did you check the settings of the security software?

Does other usb devices work's fine with the same port?

Let me know. 🙂

"Does the camera came with any driver's disc to be installed? "

Not to my knowledge. It seems that when I link it to other computers the driver appears automatically. For example,  when I connect my camera to my Chrome Book and go to device manager to check the disk drives, a drive called Ambarell A9 DSK EVK Platf USB Device appears. When I unplug my camera from the computer it disappears. However, the default disk drive for my chromebook has a different name from the drive than from my Spectre. The default disk drive starts with WDC while on my Spectre it starts with Samsung. Also when I link my camera to my Spectre the Ambarell drive won't appear because it kicks it out too fast. In general I'm confused about the drivers, because to me it appears that the driver for the camera appears automatically when connected to every other computer other than my Spectre, but can't for the Spectre.

"Did you try connecting it to a different usb port?"

Yes for two of the ports on the computer, and neither of them worked. I have also tried different USB cables and that didn't work either.

"Did you check the settings of the security software"

Not really other than the Norton software installed onto my computer. How would you recommend I go about that?

"Does other usb devices work's fine with the same port?"

Yes it worked fine connecting to my phone.

I have had the same problem, i noticed that when i try yo use a different usb cord it works. I think its because some usb cords dont have data transfer and are only for charging things. So it gives the product power, but doesn't give you data.
