Hi

I accidently dropped the laptop from the desk yesterday the cord was caught in my desk chair i turned around to speak to my daughter and moved forward and took the laptop with me..

Anyway.. the battery fell out and the other bit screwed down popped out a bit I put it all back in turned the laptop on it loaded up to the screen with the time.. its always been slow but when I pressed enter to try and load the sign in screen its not coming on.

Figured out how to go to BIOS have been there pressed default settings and saved it. Nothing else seemed to happen.

Still loading with the issue

Went back to BIOS went to run hard disk test says Hard Disk 1 Fault. Does this mean it can be fixed or is it broken? Should I unscrew the back and have a look could of a wire disconnected or something but if there was a hardware issue or malfunction wouldn't it just not work or say somethings wrong it seems to load but doesn't load that screen.. space bar works have tried to press ctrl + alt + delete but doesn't restart computer have to hard reset.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks.

p.s bought off ebay several months ago with windows 10 installed not windows 7 as default says.. I know I can reinstall windows 10 if I get it working again..

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Have a great day!
