Hi @Kj0820

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand that your HP computer is not charging and will not power on, and a local repair shop mentioned the charging port could be related. I appreciate you sharing those details.

To better understand the situation and help check the available warranty options, could you please provide:

  • The full HP product name or model number
  • The product serial number (do not post it publicly if this is a public forum)
  • Approximately when the computer was purchased
  • Does the charging light come on at all when the AC adapter is connected?
  • Have you noticed any damage, looseness, or movement in the charging port?
  • If the battery was low before the issue started, did the computer suddenly stop charging or did it stop gradually?

In the meantime, here are a few basic checks that may help gather more information:

  1. Disconnect the charger from the computer and wall outlet.
  2. Inspect the AC adapter, power cord, and charging port for any visible damage, bent pins, debris, or unusual looseness.
  3. Connect the charger directly to a different wall outlet, without using a surge protector or extension cord.
  4. Leave the charger connected for at least 15-20 minutes and check whether any charging or power indicator lights appear.
  5. If the battery is removable, remove it, connect only the AC adapter, and see whether any power lights appear when pressing the power button.

For warranty verification, HP can check the warranty status once the product details are available. You can also review the warranty status using HP's warranty check page: Official HP® Warranty Check - United States | HP® Support

Once you share the HP model number and the observations from the questions above, we can better understand whether the issue appears related to the charging port, AC adapter, battery, or another power component.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
