Hi!
I own a HP 15-ef2126wm laptop. I want to connect a USB-C Hub via the USB-C port on my laptop to have three or four extra USB-A (3.0/2.0)-port for connecting my mouse and keyboard (wireless/wired).
So my question is, does the USB-C port on this model support USB-C Hub for this use?
Thank you!

Hi @MahanMontazeri,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To connect a USB-C hub to your HP 15-ef2126wm laptop and expand your available USB-A ports for connecting devices like a mouse and keyboard, follow these steps.
- Check Your Laptop's USB-C Port: Ensure that your laptop's USB-C port is in good working condition. Physically inspect the port to make sure it's clean and not damaged.
- Choose a USB-C Hub: Purchase a USB-C hub that provides the number and types of USB-A ports you need. Look for a hub with USB 3.0 or 3.1 Gen 1 ports for faster data transfer speeds. Make sure it's compatible with your laptop's USB-C port.
- Turn Off Your Laptop: Before connecting the hub, it's a good practice to turn off your laptop to avoid any potential electrical issues.
- Connect the USB-C Hub: Insert the USB-C connector on the hub into your laptop's USB-C port. Make sure it's inserted securely.
- Power On Your Laptop: Turn on your laptop.
- Hub Installation (If Required): Some USB-C hubs may require driver installation for full functionality. Check the hub's documentation or the manufacturer's website for any required drivers or software. Download and install them if necessary.
- Connect Devices: Once the hub is connected and any required drivers are installed, you can start connecting your devices to the USB-A ports on the hub. Plug in your wireless receiver for the mouse and keyboard or any other USB devices.
- Verify Connectivity: Ensure that your connected devices are recognized by your laptop. You can check this by opening the Device Manager (in Windows) or System Information (in macOS) and verifying that the devices are listed and functioning correctly.
- Testing: Test your devices to make sure they work as expected through the USB-C hub. Check the mouse and keyboard for responsiveness, and ensure that data transfer from other connected devices is at the expected speed.
- Safe Removal: When you're done using the hub and want to disconnect it, make sure to safely eject any connected devices from your operating system (if applicable), and then safely disconnect the USB-C hub from your laptop.
- Power Off and Disconnect: Before physically disconnecting the USB-C hub from your laptop, turn off your laptop to avoid any potential issues. Once it's off, you can safely unplug the hub.
By following these steps, you should be able to successfully connect a USB-C hub to your HP 15-ef2126wm laptop and expand your available USB-A ports for connecting your mouse, keyboard, and other USB devices.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
