Hi,
I wanted to connect two external monitors to my notebook(HP ENVY Notebook 13-ab0XX). One can be connected using hdmi slot.
Wanted to check if my notebook supports connecting external monitor using type-C to hdmi adaptor/cable. So that I can use to connect the other external monitor. Let me know in case any other info is required.
Thanks

What is your HP ENVY Notebook 13-ab0XX ? From manual for the series (page 2), it should have the following USB ports
● USB 3.0 port with Type-A connector (2)
● USB 3.0 port with Type-C connector
As you can see the USB-C to HDMI won't work you need USB-C port which support Alt mode to be able to use USB-C to HDMI. Naturally you can use HDMI v1.4 supporting up to 1920×1080 @ 60 Hz port to connect to an external monitor.
Regards.

Is there any hp product support this usb c alt mode functionality? I tried using "HP Type C (USB C) to USB-C+HDMI+USB 3.0 & Gigabit Ethernet Multi Port Hub-5NA83PA" but it didn't work.
Can you suggest a cable or multiport device?
