Hp laptop 90b error. Cooling fan is not working

The 90B error on your HP laptop indicates that a cooling fan is not operating correctly. This can lead to system shutdown, data loss, or possible system damage. Here are the steps to resolve this issue:

Initial Troubleshooting

Update BIOS and Drivers:

Clean Exterior Vents:

Perform a Hard Reset:

Steps if Error Persists

Verify Thermal Condition:

  • Check the fan and connection, reseating the fan cable.
  • Ensure that there are no obstructions or dust in the heat sink fan, fin, or vent.

Test Fan:

  • Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) tool to test the fan. Ensure that the fan is not producing loud noise and that fan blades spin correctly.

Replace Fan:

  • If necessary, replace the fan with a verified working one.
