HP ZBook 15u G5 Mobile Workstation

Hello,

I need to replace a keyboard on my HP ZBook 15u G5.

According to the Service manual and keyboards, I have found available on the internet, the keyboard part number should be L17971-xx1, where xx1 is the keyboard language code.

However, I have opened my laptop to verify the part number. I have found two part numbers on the sticker:

  • L13000-BA1
  • L14366-BA1
  • Additional text was: Model V162826FK1 SV and IEC P/N 6037B014123

Is it possible to check if keyboard L17971-xx1 is compatible with the existing one?

Hi,

The simplest way to get specific  hardware parts information would be to try the HP Partsurfer web document.

https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchby=swp

Use the laptop's serial number as the search term.

Using the Maintenance & Service guide's Illustrated parts list with backlit keyboard, German language as options

L17971-xx1  replacing the xx1 with -041 should give you L17971-041.

That should be the same part number that the HP PartSurfer provided, unless the L17971-041 part number has been superseded.

The superseded part number is the current part  number and is the preferred one to use.

Here is a verification of the part number from a US supplier. It is indeed a German language QWERTZ, backlit keyboard.

Thank you for such fast response.

The first link was not useful, I have only found the same part numbers as in the Service manual.

However, on the second link one can find V162826FK1 and L14366 under Sub-Partnumbers, which are also the numbers I have found on the underside of the keyboard.
