Hi @Jay849

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I acknowledge the issue with the Camera App showing error code 0xA00F4244 and the camera not appearing in Device Manager. Let’s carefully follow recommended steps to restore detection and functionality.

Verify Camera in BIOS

Ensures the integrated camera is enabled at firmware level.

Restart PC → Press F10 → Advanced → Device Options

Confirm Integrated Camera is set to Enabled

Save changes and restart

Run HP App Diagnose & Fix

Recommended First Action

Automatically detects and repairs camera issues.

Open HP App → Support → Diagnose & Fix

Launch the tool

Allow it to scan for camera hardware and driver mismatches

Apply suggested fixes

Check Hidden Devices in Device Manager

Sometimes the camera is listed as hidden or under Imaging Devices.

Right‑click Start → Device Manager → View → Show hidden devices

Expand Imaging Devices

If camera appears, right‑click → Enable device

If missing, proceed to reinstall drivers

Install HP System Event Utility & Hotkey Support

These drivers ensure proper communication between hardware and Windows.

Visit HP Support page for your product

Download and install latest HP System Event Utility

Install HP Hotkey Support drivers

Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

Keeps firmware and hardware communication current.

Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads → Enter product model

Download latest BIOS update

Install chipset drivers

Restart system after installation

Perform Hardware Reset

Clears residual power and resets hardware detection.

Shut down computer

Disconnect power adapter

Press and hold power button for 15 seconds

Reconnect power and restart

These steps are structured to ensure the camera is re‑enabled at firmware level, drivers are refreshed, and hardware detection is reset. Please proceed through them in order and let me know if the camera becomes visible again in Device Manager.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
