Hello!
I was wondering what cpu's my laptops mainboard would support.
I currently have amd turion II p520 cpu, and i was planning on upgrading cpu, already have ssd and 8gb of ram.
I saw loads of prosessors for socket s1 and was wondering if maybe the Phenom II p960 would work on this mainboard?
Both cpus have same Thermal desing power and same socket, and i searched for hours through internet and couldn't find what cpu's this mainboard will support. Mainboard info Hewlett packard 1440 chipset: 785gx southbridge: SB800.
I would be very greatfull if someone could help me out, planning on having a 4 core cpu for some more kick to this kinda old laptop, which is still working great, only lacking for some kick on cpu power.

Here is the correct Manual:
These are the best supported AMD processors:
AMD Phenom II N970 Quad 2.20-GHz processor (2.0-MB L2 cache, 1333-MHz FSB, 35W, 3.6 gigatransfers/second)
AMD Phenom II N950 Quad 2.10-GHz processor (2.0-MB L2 cache, 1333-MHz FSB, 35W, 3.6 gigatransfers/second)
AMD Phenom II N930 Quad 2.00-GHz processor (2.0-MB L2 cache, 1333-MHz FSB, 35W, 3.6 gigatransfers/second)
Any of the above would be a drop-in replacement on your motherboard.

I can't find your machine. I expect it is similar to a dv6-3034ca:
but not because the manual is for Intel processor only (the first one on the list).
I also look at a dv6-3034sl but no available specs and manual.
You can't use CPU even they are on a same family because BIOS may not allow you to install. Hope someone can find a right manual for you.
Regards.
