Product: hp Envy
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

HP Envy notebook bought 6 months old, cracked screen without realizing it, no dropping, bumping etc, just discovered crack.  It affects the mouse to where I cannot use it at all.  Cost to repair screen over 2/3 cost of new notebook.  Any suggestions or thoughts?

Is it a touchscreen? If so its a bit more of a problem but if not screens cost like $100US or even less and the replacement is not as difficult as you might think it would be. I am not employed by HP but I am a fixer and have replaced dozens and dozens of laptop screens and would be happy to help walk you through the process. We might also try to figure out what caused the crack just to be sure you are not replacing it only to see if crack again. Might be a hinge issue for example.
