My new laptop was giving this cricket sound from the hard drive side. I thought the hard drive was damaged and so got it changed.
It also didn't make any difference and I still here this constant spin when in use.
Please how best can I solve or reduce this.
Thanks for the response

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
As I understand there's a noise coming out of the device,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
When was the last time it worked without these issues?
Any recent hardware or software changes made to your PC?
(If its not the hard drive, the only other thing that could cause the noise (apart from an actual cricket stuck inside 😛 ) is the CPU Fan)
While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:
- Updating your Notebook computer BIOS
- Keeping notebook air vents clear and clean
- Increasing the efficiency of the notebook to reduce heat
- Using Windows Task Manager to identify corrupt processes
- Selecting power save settings to shut off your computer when it is not in use

Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

When was the last time it worked without these issues?
it has been this way from the first day. And this got me to change the hardrive in it to another one.
Any recent hardware or software changes made to your PC?
No software change expect installing the usual softwares from the Hpdrivers after i changed the hard drive
i also updated it to windows pro from home.
And oh i will gladly terminate this cricket if possible:smileyhappy:.
