I only recently bought this laptop from the HP website. At first all seemed fine, however when i closed the lid of the laptop it crashed. This happened consistently each time the laptop was put into sleep mode. I managed to fix this issue by disabling the fast start up feature (not even sure how this worked). However this has meant I am now missing features on a brand new laptop which is very disappointing.

On top of this, I have noticed that the hinges on the laptop are crooked. This is concerning as again the laptop is brand new and showing signs of damage straight out the box. Have I been sent a faulty product/ is this a common issue? I have seen a lot of posts online where customers have been told they must pay for the “accidental damage” due to similar issues to what I am having. For the moment the hinge does not affect the functionality of the laptop, however I have concerns it will in the future.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like hardware related issue with the Hinge assembly and in order to fix this issue,  your computer needs to be serviced.  As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically.  HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/
