Hello,
I wanna upgrade my hp laptop`s Ram to 16gb. Will the DDR3L ram compatible with it? I got a plan to purchase this Kingston ValueRAM DDR3L 1600MHz CL11 Single Channel Laptop RAM - 8GB. Would it compatible with my laptop?

Thanks

For Intel models, it's 16gb max.
Yes 1600 MHz will down clock to 1333MHz
Don't know why Crucial is identifying like that, may be it is incorrectly thinking as AMD model
To know whether one specific module is exactly compatible, you have to contact the RAM manufacturer - this is what we suggest to members here
We can only suggest to get the exact configuration and give you the specs

Upgradeable upto 16gb (two 8gb sticks)
Get another module of EXACT same configuration ,speed, voltage as other one to GUARANTEE compatability
Support DDR3, 10600, 1333MHz
That Kingston RAM module for gaming, may not work in your machine.
Crucial online scanner will list compatible modules.

Hi,
Thanks for replying,
I`ve read the manual and many articles about this, I thought If I purchase 2x8gb sticks, the ram will automatically get the frequency back to 1333mhz.
Also, the crucial scanner says my maximum memory could be 8gb!
Best.

I don't have any idea why it is like that.
For Intel models like yours, it is 16gb according to MSG.
Your present configuration is DDR3-10600 1333MHz 9-9-9-24 (CAS latency) 1.5V SO-DIMM SDRAM according to screenshot.
