I have an HP Pavilion Laptop 14-dv0xxx

 

I do not understand the specs and how they relate to DP Alt Display functions.  I bought a dock on Amazon that says it is compatible with HP laptops, but it is a USB-C dock and I cannot get this bucket of bolts to actually register the monitors when I try to connect them through the dock.  I thought this was a new laptop (work), but I guess it is 2022.  Does this thing even work with DP Alt Display?  It has the **bleep** lightning bolt next to the USB-C, and the dock is charging the laptop.  But the display is not coming up, even after downloading the recommended  drivers...
