My laptop came with DDR3 4GB ram in single slot, now i upgraded to 8 GB with another 4GB of RAM(i tried my best to see the new ram has same frequency ,brand and CAS latency).
but CPUZ shows single channel.(it recognize my another ram and now total memory is 8GB)
does this laptop motherboard not support dual channel??
I was expecting it to work in dual channel.
product number :- Y9Q66PC#ACJ

Hi:
Normally memory works that way, but on a few AMD models such as yours, the memory only runs in single channel mode even when you install memory in matching capacities such as you did.
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05227925
See chapter 1 for the memory specs...and notice what it indicates...
Two non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory
module slots
DDR3L-1600 Single Channel Support
There is noting wrong with your PC, and nothing you can do about it.
