@jiahao

Thank you for responding,

It's great to have you back 😉

The file downloaded from the HP website should have an option to create a flash drive as mentioned on the article,

However, if it isn't, I recommend that you attempt the same setup file on another PC to check if the options shows up and if it doesn't, the best way to go forward is to Contact HP and have the PC either repaired/replaced:

HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/?openCLC=true

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get the phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If the unit is under warranty repair services under the manufacturer's warranty will be free of charge.

If I have helped you resolve the issue,

Feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon

Followed by clicking on 'Accepted as Solution'

And Have a great day ahead!

Thank you. Unfortunately it's already out of warranty. So I do not think the service centre would be a cost effective route to take. Thank you for the assistance though

I understand your dilemma, however, the only other thing you can try in this scenario is to reseat the RTC/CMOS Battery,

Although, that's a very complicated path: Click here to view your maintenance guide for step by step instructions:

1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 41).

5. Remove the memory module/wireless module compartment cover (see WLAN module on page 44).

6. Remove the WWAN module (see WWAN module on page 47).

Remove the RTC battery: ▲ Use a thin, non-conductive tool to remove the RTC battery from the socket on the system board.

Reverse this procedure to install the RTC battery. When installing the RTC battery, make sure the “+” sign faces up.

After this I'm afraid you are on your own as I'm at the end of the line and cannot help further as it's a hardware malfunction if the above steps doesn't work either.

Keep me posted,

Hi guys,

here a little hint for people, where the described trick isnt working. For me that also happened, Bios file unpack for a HP G72-120SG. Name was 1425F37.FD. I renamed to 1425.BIN and it doesnt work. Tried a lot of other numbers, but nothing helped. Inside the folder from the unpacked bios, there where also config files with 1425 in it (e.g. 1425_12). I looked into it and found the following:

[Platform_Check]
flag=2
PlatformName1=1425
PlatformName2=1426

So I renamed the Bios file to 1426.BIN et voila it works.

Greetings
