Pavilion DV6-3120us Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Pc will no longer boot up. PC error at startup is "caps lock" flashing once every 3-4 seconds. This should indicate cpu problem. Installed AMD Turion II Dual-Core 2.5 GHZ Laptop Processor CPU TMP560SGR23GM D2-X3-h7 to replace original cpu (AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile P540 2.4GHz LP TMP540SGR23GM Laptop CPU)  but pc does not boot up and no error lights or messages are generated. Hard drive works when used in another notebook pc I own. The motherboard has an HP sticker to "replace with hp spare595135-001" but I don't have the actual mobo # used in my notebook.  Is the replacement cpu compatible with the Pavilion DV6-3120us notebook?

The processor you installed is a Turion II P560 which is on the compatibility list:

Service Manual

The blinking caps error is actually much more likely to be the motherboard than CPU.

This is the motherboard:

For use on computer models equipped with a graphics subsystem with UMA memory 595135-001

You could upgrade to one of the dedicated video boards as an alternative. See p. 25.
