Hi
I am interested in replacing my original HDD with a SSD. Has anyone accomplished this...any problems/suggestions/SSD recommendations?

Sure, you can do that. I have upgraded olger generation notebook begfore without issue.
Crucial memory sells 2.5" SATA SSD products that are guaranteed to work with your notebook.
See the link below this line. You can actually buy direct from the manufacturer or just find what you need and search for a better price from an online vendor.
