My DVD drive isn't working.  Found that the Windows 10 program identified it as CD ROM.  Uninstalled it and rebooted.  Still loaded as CD ROM.

Well first thing I would do is test it in the pre-boot diagnostic app to rule out a Windows issue. Tap esc as you power up and then F2 at the menu to enter component tests and find the test for the DVD drive and run it. If you get a hardware error then we know the drive needs to be replaced. If there is no hardware error we can focus on possible software issues with the registry configuration for the DVD drive. You can also try booting from the DVD drive with a Windows install or other bootable DVD. If you can boot from the drive, then there is no hardware error.

And can it read a CD? DVD? What do you mean when you say it is not working?

It is an optical DVD R/W that Windows tells it that it is a CD ROM.  Will not read DVD's.  Don't know about CD's.  Never ordered any.
