Hi,

First question so pretty new to this.

The charging port on my HP Pavillion has become damaged. The device still charges and the charger is completely fine but nonetheless I am worried that my laptop may just stop charging one day. I am out of warranty so looking for some options.

Would it be possible to take out an HP Care Pack for a year and get the laptop repaired?

Is there any HP retailers or certified refurbishers in the UK can can repair it?

IS there anyway to part excahnge the product with HP as there is a newer version?

I am worried because I rely on my laptop a lot and it is perfect for what I need.

Many Thanks,

Bradley

Hey there! @BradleyH1, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand DC port on your laptop has gone faulty.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes to your PC?

As you wanted to purchase an HP Care Pack for your laptop to get the laptop serviced.

1. To get the warranty extended from HP the laptop should be in a working condition. Since your laptop is non-functional you cannot upgrade the warranty.

2. You can contact HP phone support and get your laptop serviced.

3. HP does not have a trade in options.

Hope this answers your query!

Have a beautiful day ahead! 🙂

Hello,

I haven't made any changes to the laptop.
The laptop is still perfectly functional and is in working condition. It still charges and I have run diagnostics on the battery and the system and they have all comeback as successful and passed.
It's purely if in the future it does become non functional, I want to be ready.

So with this in mind, with the laptop in perfect working order, could I take out a care pack and have it serviced if needed?

If I can't do this, and use phone support to get my laptop serviced, will it cost?

Many thanks

You can't get a warranty on it. You can't buy insurance on your house after it is on fire. The warranty never covers physical damage. If you arrange to have it fixed it will cost. Thanks.
