HP X360 product ID L8T22AAR
I am running Win 10 creators update. When system tries to wake from sleep I get a black screen and error message "stop code memory management".
I ran the hardware troubleshooter and it says "HP mobile data protection sensor not working properly". Any ideas?
In device manager it says the following:
The driver for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the hardware vendor for a new driver. (Code 48)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
I realize that the memory mngmt and data protection sensor could be separate problems.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand you are getting the error-"stop code memory management" & "HP mobile data Protection sensor not working properly",
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Did you troubleshoot these issues on your own? If yes, what steps have you done so far (apart from the ones you've mentioned)?
Have you made any recent hardware or software changes?
While you respond to that, here's a few things you could do:
Let's deal with one issue at a time, first the "Memory management error":
Step One: Run SFC Scanner:
- Type cmd in the search box, then right-click on the Command Prompt option and choose Run as administrator.
-
Select Yes at the prompt, Type in sfc/ scannow and hit Enter key.
-
This process could take a while, please be patient.
Step Two: Run Windows Memory Diagnostic Test
- Open Memory Diagnostics Tool by clicking the Start (Orb)> click Control Panel> clickSystem and Maintenance> click Administrative Tools> and then click MemoryDiagnostics Tool. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
- Choose between the two options for when to run the Memory Diagnostics Tool:
- You can restart your computer and run the tool immediately.
- You can restart your computer and run the tool later.
This should either resolve or help us identify the issue, while that being taken care off:
Install this softpaq to resolve the issue with the HP Mobile data protection: Click here to download.
Let me know if those steps worked for you,
If they did, that's awesome!
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck
