HP Pavilion Notebook - 17-g153us
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone. I have a HP Pavilion Notebook 2016. Last week, the battery began losing it's ability to hold a charge. It is now dead and running diagnostics it says it needs replaced. The PC does run fine on the power adapter but I'm a little concerned if this is safe to do. I've thought about removing the battery and not replacing it for now and going off the power cord. Is this safe to do, running the PC with no battery in it? If I don't replace it and leave it in the unit, will it swell? I've seen differing opinions about this online so I'm not sure how to proceed. Thank you for any replies.

Hi:

IMHO, you'll be fine running the notebook with the battery removed.
