HP Spectre x360 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 16-f0000 (39R25AV)

My laptop died one day. I sent it to a repair shop in California and the tech said this-

"There was no short circuit detected. The thermal imager shows a very hot unknown chip labeled DFADPB. There is no documentation or any information on what that chip is or does. HP chose not to provide this info. The chip may or may not be the culprit. Replacing the chip does not guarantee the laptop to be fixed, but it's an initial step in the right direction. Since we do not know what the chip is and we can't buy one, the device is deemed a no fix."

Is there any hope of fixing this laptop at reasonable cost?

This was a $2K laptop used very infrequently for 2 years. So much for HP craftsmanship.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Arun
