HP Pavilion - 14-ce0009nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought this laptop just over 3 years ago and the extended warranty refused to change the battery (even on paying for the service they still refused) and now I'm stuck with a laptop that works like a desktop because the battery can't last more then 40 minutes when surfing on internet.

From 42 Watts, now it has just 20 Watts.

I don't know what to do anymore since it's so frustrating that just after 3 years I have a laptop which works just like a desktop pc.

I'm gonna change brand next time (if I can afford a new one).

Modern laptops have internal batteries. Dell, Lenovo, HP, Acer. All the same. The battery can be replaced and it is not even very expensive, but requires removal of a few screws and opening the back of the laptop. You need to find a battery (amazon italy will have it) and then with the instructions do it yourself (not hard as I said) or find a repair shop to do it for you. A small fraction the cost of as new laptop and your full mobility is restored. Post back if you want full details on this.

I just searched now, but there is no original battery for my laptop, only some batteries from strange names.

I already tried on ebay with an original one, but the package got lost during shipping.

This is not an excuse to have a battery that does degrade more then 50% in just 3 years.

You do not know where to look.  You are way off base, by the way. Laptop batteries last 2-4 years usually so very normal to have 50% power after 3 years. If you want help finding a battery let us know. If you want to argue and debate I'm out. I do not work for HP so there is that.

You told me to search on amazon. here is the link: https://www.amazon.it/s?k=hp+pavilion+14+ce+batteria

There is no original part listed.

Again, I did not say you would find an original battery on amazon.com. The compatible ones they mostly sell on amazon are fine as long as you buy from a high rated high volume seller. But if you must have original you have to go to eBay or a specific battery supply house.

Thank you. I'll try again to buy from ebay and see if it arrives, but it will be my last hp. If a battery can last 2-4 years I call it garbage. Plus is there any official guide how to replace it?

I have been buying using and fixing laptops for 25 years. If 2-4 years of battery life is going to bother you, I suggest you buy a desktop computer and give up being portable because this is not unique to HP. Good luck.

Thank you for your suggestion, unfortunately it's not viable in my case since I need to use it when I'm not at home (plus I don't have a permanent place to put everything like monitor, keyboard and case).

My previous laptop (an Asus one with a core 2 duo) had a battery that had gone down to 40% capacity after 7 years.

I think what Huffer was trying to get across to you is that there has been a general decline across the board in laptop batteries in the days since you had bought that Asus. Probably in an effort to keep costs down for the manufacturer. If it does bother you that much to replace a battery every 2-3 years, then I'd suggest you go to user forums of other makers and pose the question to them before jumping ship.
