I bought my HP Envy laptop only one year ago, and out of nowhere, I noticed the right-hand side bracket over the hinge had popped opened. In trying to open my laptop, the screen cracked with glass shooting out all along the bottom and the hinge itself popped out. There was NO kind of impact whatsoever that occurred to trigger this happening.
In researching this, I've found that this seems to be a recurring issue with HP laptops going as far back as 2013! I am so horrified to discover this and wish I had known about these issues that HP has clearly not made any effort to solve for its customers. Unfortunately, my warranty has just expired, however, an issue like this should be classified as a defect and these devices should be recalled. Seems there is already a class action lawsuit against HP for this very issue regarding the Envy model as well as others.
This is super disappointing as I was very much enjoying the laptop and invested a good amount in it. Being that the Envy is part of HP's top of the line products, a defect like this should be fixed without charge or a new device should be awarded.
Will you do anything about this HP?
