My Envy came with a touchpad with it's sides dragging. When pressed in the lower left corner, it wouldn't rebound. In an effort to continue using it, I trimmed off a little of the edge of the touchpad with a box cutter. I started a chat session with HP's so called tech support and got nowhere. Their solution was to send it back at my expense, pay to have HP replace the touchpad and then pay the return freight - not acceptable!. It was just over a couple of months old at that time. The touchpad has continued to be a problem. I'm not going to do without the laptop for several weeks to have it repaired - that's not an option! I'd replace it with another brand first. Only then would I be able to do without it but, by then, I wouldn't need it anymore anyway. If I sound bitter, it's only because I am. I expected a proper functioning unit without any problems built-in.
Where can I buy a replacement touchpad? I can replace it myself avoiding the downtime, shipping expense and labor charges.

I continued my own search for the touchpad and found the part number. Then I searched for that part number and found a replacement on eBay. It should be here in a couple of days. Today's HP continues to be a disappointment.
