My question is why isn't the BP02XL battery on recall yet? I just removed mine and I feel like its gonna burst into flames. Anyway my house wont burn down from this flawed battery sporting HPs name. So how do I get my replacement battery? I see there is nothing but knock offs on Amazon, HPs parts site search shows no such thing as a BP02XL battery (So flawed that its been scrubbed from HPs records?). The sticker on battery shows "Replace with HP spare 849909-850" and HP parts search reveals: A match to your search criteria could not be found. Please check your entry, or try using the product category search links displayed below. Please review to ensure all required information has been entered.
HP please reach out to me so we can resolve this together.

No, battery is not so flawed it is "scrubbed".
Most replacement batteries are not provided directly from HP.
What do we do?
Purchase a compatible battery using the part number.
For example, I found this part at Amazon, Walmart, Notebookparts, eBay...

"Fat" Battery / Bloated Battery / Swollen Battery – Sealed / Internal Battery
- Swollen battery might be hiding OR there might be evidence that the battery has inflated. For example, notebook case is warped, touchpad stops working, “odd” bulging near the keyboard.
- If the battery is in a swollen or bloated condition, the battery must be removed from the computer and replaced. There are no other remedies, tests, or useful options.
