Dell Dock WD15 with 130W AC adapter with Dell monitor and have on and off problems connect my HP laptop so I can use audio and camera on my Dell screen. I just have done an HP Wolf Security update and now my HP laptop is not connecting to the screen for audio and camera. It's working fine when I use my private Dell laptop. The HP Elitebook does recognize the C Type USB connection when I insert the cable in the laptop. Any suggestions on how to resolve this are appreciated.

Unless they are marketed as being universal, laptop docks are proprietary devices.
That means that Dell docks work with dell laptops and the same applies to HP docks and HP laptops.
That is what you are experiencing.

I have now purchased a HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2 and it charges my Elitebook fine, but it still does not connect with my Dell monitor with a usb c cable. Does this mean I would also need an HP screen so all devices are HP for this to work?
