Hello everyone! I bought a laptop a month ago and I felt it was slow. So when I removed the existing DRAMless ssd and bought Hynix P31 and added it to my laptop, I could feel the satisfactory speed.

But during the disassemble process, I had to remove two rubber feet.. Now they simply look tampered with and it won't stay on securely.
I tried to purchase part number M52818-001, but I couldn't get it on the hp website and I was selling it on eBay for $65 including shipping.

So I was going to give up, but I saw the community post that free warranty are available for this matter.

When I tried to get a free warranty in South Korea, HP engineer informed me through messenger consultation.
Unlike the U.S., free warranty are not available, and they guided them to visit service centers with products unconditionally and receive paid warranty.

honestly, I have no intention of paying more than $20 for pieces of rubber.
I don't understand why warranty apply differently.  I feel unfair about this.
In fact, is there a case where a free warranty is available in the U.S., but not in other countries?
I hope that someone will give a clear answer to this

Welcome to the HP User Community.

There might be a big difference between a new product on which there is apparently a problem and a product that has been opened and had work done on it by the owner of that product.  The four year old thread you mention touches on this but, no, it does not say outright that the Warranty is exactly "this or that".

My opinion:

Why different?

Because it can be so.

Supplies, case load, model types, and most important, Warranty contract requirements in a specific region / country.

Yeah, but...

Frankly, even if a Community thread / message does say a certain thing, HP Support speaks for HP.

Each case submitted to Support is subject to what HP decides about that case.

The Community does not speak for HP Support.

HP provides to the public at least some of the details about standard Warranty practices and coverage.

Reminder:  Your interpretation of any statement in any document is not the deciding factor.

That said, when there is reason to do so, HP will review decisions made by support offices in one region or another.

So...

I have notified the moderator team of your concern.

If there is a response, look for a message here before an agent uses any other means to contact you.

HP Limited Warranty Statements (General Information)

Standard Warranty, that is, the warranty included with the device, typically covers hardware as explained in the Warranty document.  Optional Care Pack warranties differ by contract.

HP Repair Status

Requires Service Order number / Serial number

Reminder:  Do NOT any post private information in the Community.
