HP Pavilion 17-ab424ng (5GV07EA#ABD)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased a UASP Enclosure https://smile.amazon.de/gp/product/B07D2BHVBD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for my Samsung SSD 830 Series 128 GB.

On the right Side of my Notebook is one USB 3.0 Port, which works fine with the Enclosure and the SSD.

On the left Side of my Notebook is the second USB 3.0 Port, which is not okay Performance

Any help appreciated, why the second USB 3.0 Port is acting strange.

Update the Bios, chipset and drivers using HP Support Assistant.

Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

I hope that helps.

Welcome to the HP support community.

When did this issue start?

Did you try any troubleshooting steps on your own?

This Issue is only with the new Enclosure.

I did a performance Test with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive Patriot Supersonic Maximum. The Performance is on both USB 3.0 Ports the same.

Here is a Screenshot how the Ports look in my Device Manager - maybe there is something wrong - missing driver or else.

Hello Sandytech20, thanks for your help, but I am going to return this Enclosure to Amazon, because now it is not recognized on the USB 3.0 Port at all.

I already did the Update (BIOS and so on) my System is up to date.
