Hello, I have a question about ac adapter use.
I own a hp pavilion g6 1001ev but I use an ac adapter from hp presario cq60.
According to hp pavilion g6 1001ev manual http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02770249 (page 5)
two ac adapters are listed:65-W AC Smart adapter with localized cable plug support and 90-W AC Smart adapter with localized cable plug support
Ac adapter from hp presario cq60 has the following specs:input(100-240v -1.7A), output(18.5v 3.5A 65W)
A few weeks ago I buyght a new hp compatible battery and after reaching 100% I used it for the first time.At about 30% my computer turned off.I tried to charge it again and the same thing happened(this time at 20%).I requested to the store for a new battery because I thought it was defected. The second battery had the same issue.Employees at the store told me that both batteries went ''crazy'' after charging them.
Back then, my dc power jack was a little bit damaged but a professional have fixed it, now .
Keep in mind that everytime I plug the ac adapter to a socket sparks are emitted. One time after pluging my ac adapter all the lights went off and it smelled like something was burned. However, the ac adapter still works but the power cord is kind of worn-out as shown below
Therefore my questions are:
a)Is it possible for this ac adapter from hp presario cq60 to reduce my laptop's(hp pavilion g6 1001ev) performance?
bWould an ac adapter with 90w be a better choice for optimal performance?
c)Is the battery malfunction caused by dc jack or it's adapter's fault? Should I use the new battery with the same adapter now or should I replace the adapter with a new one?Is there any program to check if ac adapter functions properly?
Thank you in advance.

Welcome to HP Support Forum, Please allow me to answer different way:
(b) Your machine only has Intel HD (up to 1.24 GB) therefore 65W (part # 609939-001) should be ok. You need to use 90W for machines on the same series which have dedicated GPU. Please look at columns with UMA.
(a) I believe part number for the 65W AC Adapter of the CQ60 is 463958-001 and it is NOT a Smart adapter (does not have middle pin) therefore your machine may not know it and it may not charge battery. At the end, that may cause unpreditcable damages.
Regards.

Thank you for your answer, Banhien.I just edited my post, could you take a look again because I included more info this time.
So far, according to your answer I see that I have to purchase a new adapter. Is there any chance the above mentioned adapter to have already cause a serious damage to my laptop?
Bear in mind that when I delivered to a professional to fix the dc jack I couldn't turned it on at all after one time the ''defected'' battery was discharged. However, it's working fine now, without any problems.

I already said "unpredictable" result therefore I can't say Yes or No.

I see.
Three last questions.
a)Considering that hp pavilion g6 1001ev has Intel HD graphics which is an integrated graphics card the only option for a new ac adapter is 65W because 90W ac adapters are used for laptops with dedicated graphics card.Am I right?
b)From manual:●6-cell Li-lon, 2.20 Ah, 47 Wh 593553-001 ● 6-cell Li-lon, 2.55 Ah, 55 Wh 593554-001
My compatible new battery has both part number(593553-001,593554-001) and it's a 6-cell Li-Ion with 5200mAh capacity and 10.8v. Is that the same with 6-cell Li-lon, 2.55 Ah, 55 Wh?
c)are the following directions for first charging make sense for a Li-Ion compatible battery?Isn't lithium battery with no memory effect?
