Hello, I have an HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-aeOxx. I have always had connection issues with the usb-c ports. My computer will either not recognize what is being connected, or will require finnagling to get connected. For example, sometimes my charger won't connect initially, but placed in the correct position it is fine. I have been dealing with this issue for some time now- however- I really would like to be able to connect mouses, external monitors, etc. without having issues.
I ran a component test and got the following result:
USB Port Check: FAILED
Failure ID: Q89K0K-8S7B2K-MFPUQK-8D4K03
This was the result when testing both usb-c ports.
Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi@Brian_51,
Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!
I see you are experiencing USB port issues with the HP Spectre x360 Laptop PC.
I have a few recommendations
- Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
- Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
- Try with alternate cables and different ports.
- Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works.
As you have ran the Diagnostics and the test has Failed with a Failure ID so it could be a hardware issue with the ports.
