Hi,
I've recently purchased a Hp Envy X360 15-bq102nl, it's seems a great machine but there is a way to dim the backlight of the keyboards? Right now it's pretty strong and annoying.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post that you are having concern with keyboard backlighting on your HP Envy notebook. No worries, I'll be glad to help you.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Are you looking for the keyboard backlight on your HP Envy notebook or Did it stop working recently?
Have you checked on the functions for the backlight key it might be either F5 or F11.
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
After reviewinging your post thoroughly, I did go through the Product specifications and found that your PC came with Full-size island-style backlit keyboard with numeric keypad.
Alternatively, you can also go through the Maintenance and Service guide of your HP Envy notebook.
Scroll down to Chapter 2. External component identiƭcation - Page number 13 - Special Keys.
If you're not sure, please go through the support document for - HP Notebook PCs - Turning a Backlit Keyboard On or Off
To adjust the brightness of the backlight, press the key with the backlight icon two or three times in a row. The keyboard backlight dims and brightens. It might be necessary to press the fn (function) key at the same time to activate the backlight key.
In case if the keyboard backlight stopped working, I would suggest here is to update the Bios on your PC either from our HP Support website, using this link or download it from HP Support Assistant.
Download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Eagerly waiting for your response!
that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
