Hey HP Community,
After purchasing a new HP Victus 16-s1023dx (16GB DDR5-5600, Ryzen 7 8845HS, RTX 4070, 512GB NVMe), opening games will result in a crash with the error DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED with reason DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG. I have reinstalled the NVIDIA drivers via DDU, rolling back to older drivers did not fix it, Windows is up to date, temperatures are stable, editing the registry failed to fix it, power plan is set to high performance, and all components’ clockspeeds are factory default. The event viewer returns with error ID 153, from “nvlddmkm.sys”.
I have encountered this same error on my custom-built desktop last year, and after days of troubleshooting the problem was faulty RAM modules. I had to disable XMP and run the factory clockspeed. With this laptop, it does not seem to be unlocked to change the memory clockspeed, so I’m stuck.
Let me know if there is still another solution to test, or if I should exchange the laptop or change the hardware.
Thanks!
