HP ENVY - 17t-bw000 CTO

Hi,
My HP Envy came with 1TB mechanical HDD and Intel Optane installed.
I took out the HDD and the Optane stick and installed a 1TB PCIe M.2 2280 NVMe stick.
I had made a backup of the HDD, so I was able to get my computer back running quickly.
Since I am not using Intel Optane now, how do I go about deleting from UEFI? I have not been able to get rid of it there.

Removing the entry from BIOS probably isn't going to have an effect on your boot time, but if you still want to do it. I would not bother to do it.

"Go into command mode (run as administrator)
  1. type bcdedit /enum firmware (space between enum and firmware.
  2. Now you'll see a list.
  3. Delete the entries you don't want."

See the Microsoft web document  at the link below to learn how to delete the entries that you do not want.

Thanks, Erico.

I used the command line you posted and nothing identifiable pertaining to Intel Optane came up there.

Just as well, I will leave it alone, since the laptop is working fine and I'm getting the results I was expecting.

You're welcome.

HP used Optane memory and  the IRST software  and driver to add a memory accelerator to their laptop.

It acts as cache memory and behaves in the same fashion as the cache memory in processors.

It is a step beyond the virtual memory that Windows uses to store data.   Windows  Virtual memory allows the the OS to rapidly access data that was previously in use.

That is the function of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver that is part of the driver and  software download set for your laptop.

If you reinstalled all of the drivers and software, the IRST driver is probably present and working in your system.
