Can someone let me know how can I disable the touchpad on my laptop?  I use an external mouse.  I do not want the mouse pointer to move on the screen just because my thumb touches the touchpad when I am typing/

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

 

Click Start Type Regedit to open the Registry Editor >  go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software/Elantech/Othersetting/DisableWhenDetectUSBMousekey and change the value from 0 to 1.
