OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-c0000 (343L4AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, i have an omen 16.1 with amd cpu ryzen 7 5800h (which has integrated graphics) and gpu which is a radeon rx6600m. Unfortunately, for amd laptops, in omen gaming hub there's no possibility to disable the dedicated gpu in order to save battery power when not using it. I was wondering if disabling the gpu from the device manager in Windows, actually disables it and saves power and whether it is dangerous to do that or not.

@Stiven_2003,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your laptop should automatically downclock your RX6600m to switch to a minimal power setting necessary to run. I don't think it would be dangerous to disable your discrete graphics card, but it would be a hassle to continually switch between integrated and discrete graphics.

Here are some other ways to extend battery life:

1.) Use "power saver" power option or customize your own.
2.) Enable "power save" mode.
3.) Reduce display brightness.
4.) Turn off Bluetooth / Wi-Fi when not in use.

Kind Regards,
