I replaced the failing battery with a non-HP replacement. When booting up, there is a Battery Counterfeit Check error displayed. Is there a way to disable this check?

Hello Tim121121.
Unfortunately HP introduced this warning message at some point on its laptops, and it's meant to stay there until you buy a genuine HP battery. If the battery check procedure is present in a UEFI firmware version, you will always get the pestering 605 code pop-up. Other than replacing the battery with an HP original (many times not possible for old systems-they've stopped manufacturing them) only two other solutions exist: Modifying the BIOS (to my knowledge has never been done), or downgrading to a very early BIOS version where the battery check was not present. The (original) 2018 F.01 BIOS on your product's drivers page would be what I would try....
