My HP Pavillion Touchsmart 15 born with Windows 8.1 upgraded to Windows 10 while I was away. I could not get into my compter. And messages said it upgraded me from 7 to 10. I ran diagnostics and a Disk failed (storage) Id. QBQA23-7AL8AM-XD7-V67-618W13. So I had to drop all my apps to finally get into Windows to finally open including 25 gb of cloud storage.. How do I fix tbis?

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- When was the last time the computer was working fine?
- Are you getting any error on the computer on the startup?
- How did you install the Windows on the computer?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
While you respond that, I recommend you update the BIOS and the chipset driver from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

If you continue facing the issue, I recommend you run the hard drive test again and let me know result.
Follow the steps in the below article to run the hard drive test.

So sorry The Fossett for not getting back to you sooner. To answer your questions:
1. It was working beautifully until I went away for the weekend and came back to my computer telling me I had upgraded to Windows 10 and to accept this agreement. It also said I had upgraded from 7 to 10, however, my computer was born with 8.1.
2. I was having the hardest time at sign in. It would not boot. But that problem has been resolved and I have been signing in and starting up fine. I do get blue screen Stop Codes: 1. Unexplained Kernal Mode Trap. 2. IRQL not less or equal. 3. Kernel Security Check Failure. I also printed out a System Info Report which states: PCR7 Configuration: binding not possible Kernel DMA Protection: Off; Virtualization based security: Not enabled Device Encryption Support: Reasons for failed automatic device encryption TPM is not usable, PCR7 binding is not supported. Hardware Security Test Interface failed and device is not InstantGO. Un allowed DMA capable bus/device(s) detected, TPM is not usable. And the short and long disk test: failed code: QBQA23 - 7AL9B3-XD7V6K-60T513. Bad Sector in Storage Disk.
3. Windows Update did it or someone has been messing with my computer and hard drive. Also last week Microsoft did a remote reinstall of W10 from 8.1. But recovery still says W7.
4. No Hardware or software changes by me. However, my roomate is a total sociopath and he also has an HP from 2004-2006 and W7 OS. In hardware manager I have alot of drivers dating back to 2006. I bought mine in 2015. Okay Im going to zip through the info you gave me. I will let you know if it worked.

Based on the hard drive test it looks like the hard drive is gone bad and needs replacement. I will share you few details through a private message about the service options dedicated to your product, please watch your inbox for more information.
Good day! Take care 🙂

Okay I hadnt seen that text yet. Well thats a drag since the computer is not that old. I believe the hard drive is solid state. I have read that age has alot to do with how long they last. I cant understand why HP would give me a 2006 SSD in a 2015 computer. Does this happen alot? Anyway I really do appreciate you taking the time to help.
