Your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04509866
It has 3 MAIN slow things
- CPU/Processor: 2.16 GHz, up to 2.66 GHz Intel Pentium N3540 with Intel HD Graphics which is a low end processor and it's slow. Nothing you can do about this except buying new machine/system board.
- RAM: It has 4GB of RAM and running Windows 10, system must do a lost of works to manage address space and it has to page/swap in/out a lot.
- HDD: with 500 GB 5400 rpm SATA, the slowest drive for notebooks/laptops today
There are 2 quick upgrades you may be able make your machine runs faster
- Upgrade RAM: your machine only has 1 slot or RAM, you can replace 4GB with 8GB (max supported) using 8-GB (PC3L, 12800, 1600-MHz) part # 693374-005. More RAM will reduce swap/page that means disk will have to work less.
- Upgrade HDD: you can replace HDD with a faster 2.5" SSD using Crucial MX500 or Samsung 850 EVE series of SSD's
Regards.
