There's two images that show this really well, I've attached them below.

 

1: Discolouration along the sides - not major issue, can be wiped off, but gets really bad in ~6 months to a year

2: Screen scraping - Screen gets scraped in an upside down T shape, the horizontal line is close to the line where the screen would meet the top border of the trackpad, the vertical line hits the horizontal right where the trackpad's top left corner is. Diagram below image

Red line marks where the scraping occurs, it gets around 1cm wide after a year

i ride the bus, sometimes use my back as a support. There aren't a lot of books in the other pocket but ocassionally it's packed full and has no space, I have to cram stuff in sometimes

 

Would love a solution as I don't want ANOTHER one of the laptop screens scraped and damaged
