Hi,
I am using HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-cd0005ng for two years now and have recently started having battery problems. After replacing faulty battery with a spare, I am left with an error message CMOS 502 (checksum failed).
My main question is, does my laptop even have a CMOS battery on its own (CR2032 or similar)? I have tried googling and reading through user manual, there isn't any CMOS (or RTC) battery mentioned for my model.
Could it be that BIOS is also failing?
Another symptom is that laptop turns on and off repeatedly and is unable to boot (4th try usually works). To rule out possibilities, I took RAM to another slot, got a new charger (and a new battery) and cleaned the fans. Often light signalizing that the computer is on flickes (short circuit)?
Thank you for your reply as I am not sure what more to do.

Hi:
The only part of your questions I can answer is that your notebook does not have a CMOS (RTC) battery.
The main battery maintains the BIOS can clock settings.
Below is the link to the service manual.
Chapter 3 has the list of parts. You will find no CMOS/RTC battery listed.
Chapter 5 has the component removal and replacement procedures. You will find no procedure to remove and replace the CMOS/RTC battery.
