Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to install SSD without removing HDD. So I would like to know if this laptop has an M.2 Slot and if there is then is it SATA III or NVMe or something else.

@Bitan,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

After reviewing the Product specifications found that your PC was shipped with 1TB 5400RPM hard drive Hard drive.

In order to check the compatibility, I would recommend you go through the Maintenance and service guide of your notebook.

Here you will find the list of parts which are tested and compatible on your PC.

Yes, there is a M.2 slot available for the SSD. For detailed information, please go through the Maintenance and service guide.

Chapter 1. Product Description - Page number 2 & 3

Chapter 3. Illustrated parts catalog - Page number 16.

Please note, these are the parts which are tested on your PC, If you wish to try other parts you can try it at your own discretion, HP Doesn't recommend any upgrade/downgrade of any hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product. It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance.

Alternatively, You could replace the part on your own, use the HP Partsurfer to identify the part: Click here & order it via the HP Parts store (Click here).

Let me know if this helps!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂

There is an M.2 slot but on this particular model the M.2 slot is for SATA M.2 only and will not work if there is a SATA 2.5 inch disk in the bay right next to it. The laptop in other words does not support dual storage. See page 2 of the Manual where there is no dual storage option for HDD + M.2 SSD. Here is a screenshot from a Youtube video showing where the M.2 slot is and the star technician is upgrading the HDD to a 2.5 inch SATA SSD:

The Service Manual is already linked for you above in @Jeet_singh  's post.

Post back with any more questions. There is some chance I am wrong and an M.2 SATA SSD such as Samsung 860 Evo would work together with a 2.5 inch hard drive or SSD but if so I think the Manual would say it.
