No, of course not.
The advice we provide is based on the information that is generally available (Internet, books, research papers), our own knowledge based on our own experience, and historical data gathered on a subject over time.
I am sure - based on my knowledge of the subject - that this type of battery is not harmed by the simple act of leaving it connected to a charging device. There is evidence, assuming the particular battery is a good example of its type, that fewer charge cycles might actually benefit (extend) the life expectancy. Is it true? Opinions vary.
You are going to have to make your own decision and act accordingly. Read more on the subject - the information is available for the asking: Use your favorite browser and search for whatever you want to know.

You can leave the computer fully assembled, including the battery, while using the computer on AC power.
The battery will not over-charge and will not be harmed by leaving it in the computer.
You can, in fact, use the computer all the time on AC power without harm to the battery.
