My device is HP15 db1069au having standard 4GB RAM. Can I add 8GB in slot 2? Will it work in flex mode i.e, 4GB in primary stick plus 4GB in new stick in DUal Channel and Extra 4GB of new stick in single channel?

Hi:

Your notebook has two memory slots and supports up to 2 x 8 GB of memory.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the memory upgrade info.

You can add an 8 GB memory chip along with the 4 GB memory chip and it will run in single channel mode like it is now.

This would be a compatible memory chip which you can buy from Amazon India...

You're very welcome.

Yes, if you add a 4 GB chip in the empty slot, the memory will run in dual channel mode.

I advise against that though, because nowadays with Windows 11 setting the minimum memory requirement at 4 GB and programs becoming more memory hungry, in my opinion 16 GB will be the new normal for decent performance.

Buy the 8 GB chip and then one day, remove the 4 GB chip and add a second 8 GB chip, so you will have 16 GB running in dual channel mode.
