Product: HP EliteBook 8770w Base Model Mobile Workstation

I have hp 8770w. Sometime it turns on and runs very well and Sometimes it turns off itself without any warning and shut downs as power has been cut off. Sometime it doesn't turn on. Rather it's red light blinks for eight times whenever I press power button. I have removed the battery and use direct ac supply. When i connect the battery and it turns on the battery do not charge. In short if i connect batter it shows there is no ac supply.

What can be the issue and possible solution?
