I have a HP EliteBook 8570w and am using a HSTNN-I11X docking station. I am using a HP 230w PSU. I am trying to use the DVI output on the docking station. The 8570w doesn't have a DVI port. Does this affect the functionality of the docking station port?
When connected, Windows detects my monitor, but the monitor doesn't receive a signal. I have tested the DVI input to my monitor. The VGA output of the docking station works fine. I have not been able to test the Display port yet.
My video card is a Nvidia Quadro K1000M. I have updated the driver, and have tried rolling back the driver.
I'm going to test the Display port on Monday, and will stick with that if needed (assuming it works.) But, I'd like to keep the option of another additional monitor without using the VGA port.

No, you can can use all ports which are available on your dock. How many monitors do you use now ? Are you connecting 2 monitors and the first one is on the DisplayPort of the notebook ? If yes then you have to use the second monitor on the VGA port on notebook, you can't use DVI port on the dock, you can only use 1 digital and 1 analog.
Regards.
