1. Is there a convenient docking option for my new computer from HP? I need to connect to two external screens and a network cable. The screens work with HDMI and DisplayPort.

2. Can you use the USB C port for power supply to the computer? There is a 15W Samsung unit on the market. Can you recommend that?

To answer your second question first, no, you cannot power an HP Envy x360 through the USB-C port.  The laptop doesn't support it.  I've researched it extensively, and can tell you it doesn't work.

In terms of a docking station - I don't know what exact model you have, but I can tell you that my brand-new HP Envy x360 15t (model 2GJ44AV) cannot drive an external Displaylink USB adapter through the USB-C port.  There's apparently some limitation in the HP design that makes it not work, and I tested three different USB-C docking stations with video to prove this.

What I can recommend whole-heartedly is connecting a docking station via one of the standard USB 3.0 ports on the laptop, because that works great.  I looked at a dozen different products, and finally settled on this one - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019XOJ874/ref=cfb_at_prodpg?th=1  - and I can tell you without reservation that it works PERFECTLY.

The two video connectors on the back of this docking station are HDMI and DVI, so you'll need an adapter for your Displayport monitor, but that shouldn't cost you more than a few dollars.

Hope this helps!

Would a USB-c to A USB work?

I just got off the phone with an HP technician and was told this particular model will support the HP Envy, HP  Travel Dock -3FF69UT.  I have not purchased it yet, but will do so today and give it a try.  Hopefully, it works.
