Hi;
I am looking for a docking station for my HP Envy 15-as050tu. I have tried a HP Plus Dock 3FF69AA (USB-C) but this one is not compatible, also tried a DUAL Video Adapter connected to the USB-C which didn't work either. Can someone recommend a USB-3 dock that will work (Possibly the Toshiba Dynadock 3.0)?
Important for me is that I can use two external monitors (via extend not mirroring). Does not need 4K as my monitors are not the newest anyway. Also I like to run Windows 10 and Linux on the laptop.
HP recommended this one: https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=Y0K80AA&opt=&sel=ACC
but a bit pricey.
Thanks
Thomas

You have one plain data transfer USB-C and three USB 3.0 ports. So your USB-C does not carry a native video signal. Your solution is a dock connected either by USB-C or USB 3.0 that has DisplayLink technology. That will convert a USB connection to video. It can drive multiple extended display monitors. The only problem with it is the bandwidth is somewhat limited so does not work real well for gaming or even some streaming video but fine for general internet, spreadsheets, etc. You also do not need Power Delivery as you cannot charge the laptop through the USB-C port anyway.

Thanks for the prompt response. Based on this is it fair to say that the docks on the following page should work?

Will try one of the Dell ones next week at work and report back.
